    Default Recommended Recruitment Agencies?

    Hi Everyone,

Well, first of all, I did a search and could only find a thread on bad agencies to avoid but none regarding recommended or trustworthy agencies came up.

So.. anybody here can share your experiences with job agencies that you recommend or find trustworthy?

I've been looking for a new job but haven't had much luck with a suitable one.

Wanted to try out Recruit Express until i saw the awful lot of negative comments.

i sent my resumes to companies like kelly services... kerry consulting... some of the other agencies too... GMP (i think).. that was about 4 weeks back. They didn't get back to me.

Oh wells. they don't seem very keen. no follow up calls to ask for interviews etc. hais. =( so now i'm resorting to sending my resumes out myself =D

i've also been looking around trying to change job since last Sept till now and have sent my resumes to several recruitment agencies but, like you, i've not heard a word from them. It makes me wonder... Is the job market really good now?

I don't know... the only response i get is an email reply saying that they have received my resume and "will get back to me". It's been a month and I have not received any replies..

Wonder if i should go down to their office and hand them my resume personally. hais.

same same!! weird, i thought it was only me.. i sent my resume to a couple of recruitment agencies but no replies at all.. only recruit express called me.. but i try to avoid them if i can... don't really like RE. but ya, back to the topic, i wonder why no replies. thought i fit the basic requirement.. was waiting for calls, thought i would get the interview but yup, no response.. low morale.. perhaps there are more better candidates out there who fits their criteria better.. can only try and try.. keep sending

    good luck people!

Is it due to CNY coming and people are waiting for their bonus before they leave? I mostly try company nowadays but it's getting on my nerves that they didn't respond me although i met their requirements....maybe they think i'm not up to it or that they want a perm staff....will try agency next...yeah i also avoid RE like a plague but the rest i will try soon.

Its not attractive to get Job through job agency, as they will ask you to sign a one month or 2 months contract with them upon getting the job from company they recommend you.

If you want to resign from the company as you find that the job is not suitable after working there for less than 2 months, you will be expected to pay one month of salary to the job agency that recommend you. I have a friend who received a lawyer letter as she is not willing to pay the job agency.

Strangely, I get no responses from Job agencies too! throught my 3 yrs of lookin for jobs, I never have luck with any job agencies. Have always secured my intvs when I write in directly to companies instead.

The job market seems good these days, I see jobsdb and jobstreet flooding with pages of jobs posts daily, however it is mainly by job agencies. And as exasperating as could be, NONE calls me back. I wonder why! I have got 3 yrs relevant experience on hand, and have edit my CV numerous times to ensure it s concise.

    Sigh!

I too have a feeling many current employees are not willing to quit their jobs yet because it's coming to CNY.

Maybe due to superstitious beliefs like for example, if you quit your job and dun have a job during CNY, it's very unlucky as it may mean you may not have a job for the rest of the year. Many chinese got alot of this sort of "pantang" beliefs. No income for CNY can be pretty difficult, must give ang pao, buy goodies all that. So maybe they're not leaving yet.

    Same thoughts as you, pinkumiya.

There are ample job postings on JobsDB.com and JobStreet.com websites advertised by various recruitment agencies. However, I do notice that there are few job openings advertised directly by private companies..
A lot of public sector companies are hiring.
So, the job market is not really good after all.

This is the first time i've heard about the superstitious belief for the quit job and dun have job during CNY thing....but then surely still will have people quit one right? Nevertheless, i think it is so difficult to find a temporary job for my duration than permanent one. I see alot of perm job when i am finding a temp job and i also try those even when they didn't state it's temp and sent my resume to the company, hope they don't blacklist me for anyhow trying since i want to secure a job soon....and send out alot but have received no news....i find there are alot of contract job recently. Seem to be the trend, wanting to try one, a one month contract job but why would a company want to sign a one-month contract unless the job is erm not easy to do and that they scare people would not even stay for the one month time....saw a cotter reply here makes me hesitate though. It's also under agency one.

yes, indeed. Contract job seems to be the trend now.

It's good for employers as they can easily let the employee go when the term is up by not renewing. Easy on the finances.

However, for us employees, we no longer have job security. I mean, not that permanent jobs offer tacit life-time employment but at least the job security is higher than that of a contractual one.

sigh. I have been jobless for 1 mth plus after retrenchment. The market is really not good. I tried going to Recruit Express personally. They managed to secure 2 interviews for me, 1 is full time and other 1 is a temp job of 2 months.
