    Default Big 4 accounting firms

    anyone in these firms?

    i'm from accountancy and am graduating this year. i don't really know which of the big 4(PWC, KPMG, Ernst and Young, Deloitte) i should go to..any advise or comments about the company cultures, working style, how are the people there like and all? it can be on any of the big 4 company..

    my bro worked for them during his holidays as a temp.

    heard from him, these co are good, good pay, good environment, and the managers are nice to him. even brought him gifts, when he left. etc.

    i heard alot different news from these accounting firms.

    like KPMG is better compare to others and it requires you to have long hours at work. but taxi fare can be claim?

    Hi Tinkerspella,

    Hmm I guess it really depends on what you want. For welfare wise...up til now PWC is the best. A lot of changes have been going on in the Big 4...this is mainly due to the change in financial situation. Currently seems all big 4 are suffering from heavy wrkload since there seem to be a certain level of headcount freeze...Deloitte is seem to be more homely in culture...but guess it's slowly changing as well! EY from what I understand is that it's really structured...HTH!

    I know KPMG is. EY is still hiring though. Not sure about Deloitte.

    Gee, I just surfed deloitte's website and understand that they are still recruiting.. I suppose they're still hiring too

    my sis worked in EY after graduation, quitted in < 1 year.
    basically it was such long hours that sometimes i dont see her for the whole week. when she comes home, im asleep, when i go to work, shes still sleeping. weekends are also spend at clients place...

    I think they are freezing the recruits for seniors and above. As for fresh grads, they are still employing..

    Life is tough in all big 4 but you get to learn...

    KPMG and Deloitte are not hiring fresh grads for the 2009 intake anymore.

    Deloitte is recruiting. it has already offered contracts to the ntu final year students graduating in 2009.
