you can try tuition agencies, if you don't mind getting paid half of what you're supposed to earn during the 1st month.

try searching from classifieds or online tuition agencies and just sign up with them through online registration or by calling them up. it's that simple!

or alternatively, you may also visit websites for advertisements too.

    hope this helps! happy hunting!

    hahaha yup, you will!
that's their commission, it's how they earn from coordinating the student and tutor.

    Hi,

I can totally understand how you all tutors feel. I am a tutor myself and I got cheated by the same agancy twice because they used different phone numbers and I didnt know initially.

The mom wanted to cancel as she got her relative to teach her daughter but the agency tried to put all the blame on me after the mom cancelled after the 2nd tuition so that they dont have to pay me the 50% commission.

I am studying a Math degree and the agancy can actually say that I am not good in teaching Math and that I am going too slow at a pace when the student is a slow learner.

It will be nice if we can actually start a thread to start blacklisting agencies or parents so that fellow tutors in the future can be more aware.

Unethical Tuition Agent,Exploit & Scam Tutors!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hi All!

Just heard about this Tuition Agent who is very unethical from a close friend. Thought I should post it up to caution Students and Tutors

This Tuition Agent goes by the name Winnie. She has been exploiting tutors by offering rates that are below market rate & scamming tutors & parents of their commission. She was confronted by my friend and she evaded the issue by hanging up phonecalls and not responding to smses. After many smses sent her replies were beat around the bush & avioding to address the issues of tutors exploitation & uncleared commission.

She goes by the name Winnie and usually contacts parents, students or tutors using an unknown number. According to my friend who contacts her due to work assignments, her number is 91828636

    PARENTS & TUTORS BEWARE!!!

    Default Bad teaching experience

    hi, just saw this forum.

just wanted to share my experience with this horrible assignment I had with a parent frm Bkt Batok. Her daugher is very rude, and worst, she doesn't do her homework. the mother complained after 1 mth that there was no improvement and didn't want to pay. but i insisted on her payment because I overshot the time I spend teaching her, didn't charge her for more, and even bought her assessment books ( which the mother didn't want to pay for as well). in the second month, the daughter even talked back to me when i told her to do her homework as she wasn't improving at all. she doesn't have any problems, no domestic/school issues, so should not have problem finishing homework and being consistent.

i immediately quit and told the mom to look for another teacher as i have other students who are committed and willing to learn.

the mom scolded me instead of reflecting on her daughter's actions. horrible mum, horrible daughter...just wanted to share with other tutors just incase you get the assignment too...

    the mom's surname is Quek.

    cheers

Like any line, you need to be committed and motivated to earn high income.

You can definitely earn good income if you put in decent efforts.

Must be doable. Else there wont be so many tuition agencies, tuition centers in Singapore

So far my experiences have been okay, except for one parent whereby I taught both her son and daughter and both were very naughty and unwilling to learn. Initially I wanted to drop that assignment as I really can't handle but the mom peladed with me to stay on and I gave in. However, 2 mths later the mom suddenly told me that I didn't have to come for the next lesson as she has already found another tutor.

    xBabypanda:
Ouch! That was so inconsiderate and irresponsible of them! They pleaded for an extension but "burn the bridge after crossing it".
    Sigh~
