Oh....What's HR job scope?
I thought of taking up HRM.
Im lost too and i cant talk to any one in the company.
but i thought u r taking up design course??
shouldn;t u want to pursue a career in it?
HR has many functions-recruitment, Comp and ben, PAyroll and training.
I am doing operations which does not fall into any of the functions.
NOt something i want to do, i would prefer to go back to recruitment which is more interesting
hey same here! when i first started working in my previous co i felt the same too! that my degree is wasted there. people in my company were not open to newbies and they are VERY gossipy as well. but still i stayed on thinking of building up my resume . Anyhow, I just left the job without a new one 2wks back as I can't stand the jobscope anymre. so far still no replies from the resumes I had been sending out ... getting panicky!Originally Posted by boozo_bajou

I heard that HRM is a big thing and recruitment sounds fun too.
Im currently doing freelance graphic designing on top of my dumb job.
Of course i would love to be doing merchandising and something related.
But nothing comes along. I was about to submit my resignation letter but i didnt.
Whats holding me back man?![]()

Geez.
I cant stand sitting at my desk for the whole day.
So its a big NO NO for me.
What other jobs require us to move about?
Not retail please

Teaching is fun but must go for training in NIE.
I love being a PE teacher. haha
Hmm.. Marketing will allow you to be mobile at times and office based at times, depending on your specific tasks.... might not be too bad if you're looking for an interesting job.
yeah frankly speaking i would hope to give it a try in marketing
I've submited my letter and will try marketing as well.
I do cover them in my school.
What do companies actually look out for in marketing besides experience which i don't have.
hey boozo, you've tendered your resignation?
I just went for my first interview today (after quitting my last job), and the first qns asked was why did I left without securing a job first. I don't know if I answered it well, but I said becoz I felt that the jobscope was not suitable for myself, and hence wish to devote all efforts in my new job search. Also, I have enough reserves to support myself in the meantime. Is this a good reply?
anyway, perhaps it was a bad decision to leave without a job as I only have a 6mths exp with previous employment (first job), and hence not still considered not enough exp esp when compared to other job seekers with solid exp . ... feel so dejected now![]()
Yes, i have submitted my resignation letter.
I felt so restless the moment i stepped into the office today.
The job is not unsuitable for it and im wasting my time and talent by staying on.
I know job searching will be tough but no choice.![]()
I believed that theres no wrong or right to whatever reasons you gave them for leaving.
Have faith!![]()
felicity
some things that i thought of..
1) explain why u felt the jobscope wasnt suitable for u.. like for example u are looking a career in such and such but your previous job was such and such instead which wasnt really in your area of interest..
2) the part about devoting yourself to your job search is good..
3) exclude the part about having sufficient resources..
4) about the 6 months thing.. explanation is like needing time to really know what your job scope entails and realised that it wasnt suitable ie back to point (1) above..
actually since its 6 months into your first job..
its like looking for job as a fresh grad at entry level..
so i guess its more suitable for u to apply for jobs that request for fresh grads instead of those that ask for experience?..
