She tried, guess no results so she just forgot about it. I feel if the agency is a real one, won't ask models to pay for something. I was approached by other agencies as well. Some need to pay for cosmetics which was like $500!!
My god, that was quite a late reply. I apreciated it though. I sacrificed $200 as i'm unsure if i should really give more. Well it's a gd lesson. Thanks!
elo... yeah stumbled on this site.. well hehe i used to be an IMI scout... i mean we only get a measly 50 cents for every name we get so yeah its kinda our job to scout for new people.. u have to cut some slack on the scouters i mean it is our job to scout people... anyway, before i left IMI, i found out that create talents and IMI is actually run by the same people... so yeah if one was a scam, i think the other one is also too.. not to bad mouth my ex employer but i feel sorry for those people who actually came and made their portfolio but didn't get any jobs.. hehe if anyone was scouted by a chubby malay girl from IMI before then its was me! LOL
It seems like it really took you quite a bit to redress yourself. haha. creating an account just to warn fellow cotters!![]()
well, im new here to this site and really regret not reading this thread earlier!! Anyway, I have a bad experience to speak from too.I read the previous posts and found out actually there are quite a number of people being approached by B.H.I and thought maybe to let you know the ugly side of BHI
Well, I was approached a couple of months ago at around Wisma by a person claiming to be from BHI claiming that they are NOT a modelling agency but an advertising agency instead. I actually went down for their so-called interview and was actually asked to purchase a makeup set for $550 which includes a deportment class. Just to let you know, when we agree to take up the deportment class and make up set, the person who screened you WILL ACTUALLY RECEIVE A COMMISSION FROM THE $550. That's why they keep assuring you that "you are what they are looking for. Fresh faced girls from all races and ages". After the whole course ended, I was asked to submit photos for their records and also that they can send it to clients to decide if they wanna use us. My friend and I both snet in our photos to BHI only to get rejected time and time again with excuses such as "concealer not enough/ you look too tired in the picture/light is too dim and dark" etc. The thing is that the photos are all professional studio pictures!!!
Until now, we have been sending so many different kinds of studio pictures in but they keep rejecting and or coming up with silly excuses. Not just me and my friend who has a bad experienced. Some girls fromthe same deportment class as me has also been rejected alot of times until they decide not to send in the pics anymore. So you can actually say that we have spent $550 on a set of cosmetics that has a brand that is UNHEARD OF and worse still, from dubious background.
Yah, i feel lucky coz i didn't join any of those agencies that we have to pay money first.
Wow.. That's scary, luckily I ignored those scouts there.. I was standing outside the Orchard Mrt station the other day waiting for my friend, in less than 10mins time 4 person approached me!! I was so piss telling each & every of them thatI'm not interested & that their colleagues have approached me. All keep saying themselves from different company when their namecard shows the same man..
my friend who is a guy got apporached also by create talents. could it possibly NOT be a scam because usually they approach girls and all?
yah they actually scout both guys and gals... old and young..all races... i stayed long there coz my superviser was cute... lolthere are those who actually get callbacks but from one of my aquaintance who got a job at IMI, it took them ages to get their paycheck(the model that is)
guys do get approached too. my friend (a guy) was approached by an IMI "talent scout"
i'm so glad i read this thread!! was approached by a guy from I Models, keep asking me to sign on with them, pay $580 for portfolio..he even showed me the print ads they've done..and the portfolios of their models. i told him i had to think about it..though he was quite pushy..i wanted to do more research...i wasnt about to fall for some scam. so all you gals..be careful!!
I think the moment these model agencies tell you that your portfolio must be done with them, you must smell a lot of rats.
New Experience (I hope it goes bust, if it already hasn't) bullied me into coughing up $400 for the lousiest portfolio I've seen. I had only one decent assignment from them and they never paid me my $140.![]()
Hey plasticdoll, I went to m5 concepts and register with them and paid $180 and they said will contact me for photoshoot, but in the end they keep postphone and postphone the photoshoot till never heard from them again. oh my god! what a scam agency man! I was being cheated man!![]()
i was approached by i models and create talents, and im glad i found this thread! ^V^
i went to their interview as well. initially i was posted as something else, think it was "surveyor", but i went down to discover that it is actually talent "scouting". then i was asked if the terms stated are ok.. if you managed to get a certain number of names and phone numbers within an hour, the pay rises.
but i rejected the job.
