it's so easy with the internet these days...

HELP ))):
i know it's really dumb, i don't know what gone into my mind, i actually paid that jerry guy 280! after reading this thread, i'm veryvery worried, and he had actually gone through exactly the same process with me (showing portfolios, contracts, cheques and all). and he claims to have a shoot nxt wed for me, but now I dont know if i should go? In fact, I feel like taking back the 280 and forget about this incident, but i dont dare to meet him again. How?? can anyone help. I dont dare to tell my friends/family about this, cos' it's really embarassing, i'm usually not that easily scammed. i dont know what happened.
rrrainbow did he give you a receipt? It happened to me too, read back a few pages. Think up of some excuse, call him up and tell him you want the money back. He will pretend to say he's not free, and will call you back LATER.
There's no need to be scared. If he says there's a no refund policy, you say that he didn't make it clear. (Did you tell you that earlier?) If he still insists, then tell him you did some research on his address like what uenxunh did.
I wonder if ShukHan got her money back yet...
yes, he gave me a reciept. he did tell me that if there's no job within 2months he wil refund me the money. did uenxunh went for the so-called shoot he claims? i don't know what excuse to say also. i know im like an idiot, cos' i really do feel like trying out, but on the other hand, i'm really afraid it's a scam as well. sorry about the contradicting part.
Its pretty much a scam. I can't remember that exact excuse I came up at that time also... Maybe you should tell your close friend about it. There's nothing to be embarrassed about, and you're not the only here who have been scammed.
That time he showed me his 'portfolio,' most of the girls were wearing bikinis, yet he told me that I don't have to if I'm not comfortable![]()
can anyone help me think of good excuses? cos' i suddenly rmb his portfolio are mostly bikinis shoot. i dont dare to call him, if i msg will it be useful?
I think its best you call him ***. You already got that perfect excuse!
Say your boyfriend or father not comfortable with the bikini shots, say he/they will not allow you to 'show your face in public.'
i think don't tell him you wanna take the money back until u c him again, scared he blacklist your hp no. and you wouldn't find him again... since no contract then should b no place which says that cant take back the money from him...
Really seems so suspiscious. I think that jerry guy has either done some black magic or hypnotised you girls? so weird. you all dont seem to understand what had happened during those moments... sounds so scary...
i encountered one before in city link. i dont know if it was the same person. but i think he was carrying a laptop? i didnt entertain him and i told him i was pressing for time. then he got agitated and talked to me rudely![]()
i msged him and suprisingly he called back, and told me it's fine, and he says he will refund me the 280 back (by next week) when he find a replacement for that so-called project photoshoot of his. hopefully he will refund me asap.
I have a friend who is an intern at The New Paper, and another one who used to work at TNP. Want me to call them up and see if they can write an article about this? I think we should try and warn other girls about this kind of thing. I've been scouted by people before in Orchard Road. Don't think it's this Jerry guy but a couple of them asked for money upfront, citing portfolio shoots and promising jobs available. I'd hate for so many to fall for this kind of scam, and the guy getting so much money out of it.
rrrainbow I don't know why he can't refund you at a shorter time, and gave some kind of excuse like finding a replacement. I think by now we know that he's not a talent scout of any sort, nor did he own a legit talent company.
Don't let him drag too long. Mesg him on Monday and get that money back. Good Luck
Arian Most of the so-called 'talent scouts' I've met don't ask for money. All they do is follow you everywhere until you stop & listen to them. And then they hand you their card to the company. The only one I know who have asked $$ upfront is Jerry.
You should alert TNP about this, seems that its been a while since these kind of scam has been reported.
I saw Jerry today!
I was on my way up the escalator and he was coming down & saw me at Raffles City. Then he followed me up down the escalator to MRT and said "hi"
I turned to look at him, and he saw me and said "Ohh...think I remember you" then he walked away
He's so freaking rude!![]()
