Hi cotters!
Know that there's a thread for driving, but wanna start one which people can share reviews about private instructors and especially to recommend good ones!![]()
Currently i'm learning at a school (CDC@Ubi, manual) , but I think I need to get a fixed instructor instead. Not very good at driving to begin with, and having so many instructors tend to confuse me.![]()
Will appreciate if anyone can recommend a driving instructor who:
-Speaks mainly in English (if need be, then slightly in Chinese)
-Very patient, positive, friendly and.. dedicated!
-Able to impart driving skills/knowledge/tips (i feel more confident when i understand why then just practise)

Hey hey!
I just booked a slot with Mr Lim for my first practical! So excited! He charges $32/hr for peak hrs. I wonder if that's the average rate nowadays for auto cars? Does anyone have an idea? TIA!!
Anyone can recommend a private instructor from SSDC? Thanks.![]()
i am looking for a private instructor also in the east. any one have any recommendation? Also whats the standard charges in the market
???
I used to have a private instructor but later convert to school. Reason is that the instructor will not record what he have taught you and tend to repeat what he have taught which i feel like wasting $$ altot it is cheaper ($33 for 1hr30min). I have to go to the driving centre to meet the instructor where as my friend paid the same price, but her instructor will go to her house (nearby carpark) for the lessons.
hmm. i will definitely recommend Mr Chee. He has over 30 years of experience and charges cheap too. I think about $24/hr. Patient and friendly, english speaking too. haha. curiousdaze, fits your requirement. Ive sent u a PM already! For those who are interested, can PM me too.![]()
I used to learn under a "Mr Toh", charged $22/hr. Think he's not too bad! At the driving centre in Ubi.
Thank you silvercrown!btw, cotters, how much is the registration fees for private instructors?
Hmm.. If possible, can you ladies elaborate on the teaching styles of the instructors? haha.. thinks it will be easier for cotters to decide on the instructor they want. personally, i like those who tend to explain why instead of just giving instructions (like how the clutch works or how come the car reacts a certain way when u do a certain action.. or some tips on the road).
Understanding seems to make me feel more secure. i'm so problematic!and btw, how many circuit trainings do you get? I heard that one problem with engaging a private instructor is that it's hard to book for circuit trainings, as there's a quota..
