It is really disgusting. It happened in Singapore. My advise to every one who is a mommy or wants to be a mommy, never leave your baby alone with the maid. The maid must be supervised at all times. Even if you install a webcam, it is useless because the damage is already done by the time you find out.

I was so angry after watching that. I just can't help but to blurt out vulgarities at that idiot maid. Hope she gets into jail for being so cruel. I really hope the baby is fine as she is so rough to the fragile angel

Also would like to add that all mothers should never leave their babies alone with any stranger! U'd never know how mentally stable they are.

I heard that maid has been arrested. I also heard that the mommy is going to do a TV interview, but not sure when.

The sad thing is that many mommies think it is OK to leave the maid alone with the baby at home when they go to work. Babies cannot talk, so who knows how many babies have been abused ? Even if there are no surface injuries, the emotional abuse is bad enough and may have bad effects on the baby when he or she grows up.

After having my baby, I truly understand how I should not leave my baby or kids with a maid.
A baby although cute to play with can get pretty frustrating because you do not understand what they want. Their only way to communicate is through crying. It can be pretty stressful and draining on the caretaker. And this is me the mother talking. Can you imagine a maid, who has no emotional bond, no attachment whatsoever to your baby? She still has to handle housework on top of everything else. Its really not difficult to 'lose it'. So the only person you should trust that will not 'lose it' with your kids is really just yourself.

What you wrote is so true. Sometimes even as mommy myself, it is difficult to tolerate the baby's crying. I used to let my younger baby boy sleep in the living room, so that I would not hear his crying when I slept in the bedroom. But of course I would never hurt him in any way.

I heard that the baby has no injuries. But I think the mommy must be devastated by the videos.

I think all mummy should never let maid touch their baby... Get the help of the mummy's mum or mother-in-law... If situation can't best look after themselves for a few months at least... I think there's professional nannies and I know that some place even has those Baby day-care just like kindergarden kind...

Most of us know that babies should not be place in a care of a maid...

i just watched the news and the mom was interviewed...

she hadn't suspected anything because in front of the parents, the maid seemed to take really good care of the baby.

my gosh. who am i going to look for to help watch my kids in future...

horrible!!! not the first time a maid has abused a baby...next time when I have a baby, I will take care of him/her myself, or let my mum take care. I will never trust a maid!

The mum posted those videos to warn all the mummies..

If successfully, the maid will go to jail for 2 yrs.

However becus government is very "face-conscious", i doubt they will send her to jail. Cus they are in good terms with Indonesia.

There are many full time working mommies who left their babies alone with the maid. Many of them would rather work to earn extra spending money for themselves, than to stay home to look after their babies. Of course their excuse is that they want more money so that they can afford to send their kid to the best preschool, ballet, piano lessons, etc. But these mommies should think carefully what is more important to the baby. I hope more will realize this after viewing this video. But the negative effect may be the birth rate will go down even further.

A mommy should hire a maid only if there is someone to supervise her all the time. If not, then she should put the baby in infant care centers. It is more expensive, but the only other option is to stay at home to look after the baby herself.
