maybe im paranoid but i feel that whenever im lazy and i use the sam machines to weigh and purchase stamps, rather than going to the PO, my items get lost in the mail
Haha that's strange because I always use the SAM machines and out of more than a hundred packages that I've sent, I never lost a single one. Don't worry girl, it's just a coincidence or a run of bad luck.
gerwhen, could be the SAM machine ya know
I know there's one machine at Jurong East with an inaccurate weighing scale. It weights 100+ grams even when nothing is placed on it
I usually take two readings (one with items on the scale and another without the item) in order to know the exact weight.
ohce, which part of Jurong East is that faulty SAM machine located at?
For me, I bought this weighing scale at the yahoo auctions. I saw it being sold at Singpost Takashimaya branch. It's like a semi circle metal instrument that has weight markings on it. You clip one side of the instrument on your package & hold the instrument by the handle...and it'd show your weight of the item.
Only drawback is that it can only weigh items up to 100g.
After weighing, I'd then refer to this chart here:
http://www.singpost.com.sg/quick_ser...s_03postal.htm
and then affix the appropriate stamp. FYI, I usually buy $40++ worth of stamps in assorted denominations.
i wonder where all the lost mails end up to? did they split those goodies among the postmen/ladies?
Good question.
I should ask the Singpost lady tomorrow.
Gonna go down to Singpost to ask about a lost mail.
Don't wanna bother emailing them again coz previously, they replied with the robot-sounding/politically correct reply, "Thank you very much for your email but we cannot trace unregisterered lost mail." So tomorrow, am going down to fill out the lost mail form.
yay! remember to let us know the answer :]
that's weird. the person who helped in my lost mail case is actually very nice.
I'm interested in this too. I frequently use the SAM machine in Jurong East.Originally Posted by kopibeauty

Ok, the mail is confirmed by the post office as lost. Now i'm trying to track it to see if there's a possibility that it has been returned to me. Called up the loyang branch to track and they person took down my contacts, saying she'll call me back. But till now, i have yet to hear from her.![]()
There was once i sent out a mail and it came back after 2 weeks, indicated on the envelope was "no such address" . In the end i had to resend the item to the same address and luckily it reached the buyer.![]()
Another incidence was when i tried to send a document to HK. It came back to me 2 months later and indicated was "no such addressee."
sometime, i really vomit blood :puke: at the postal service.
Hi kopi beauty,
is there a difference between emailing the post office versus filling up the mail form? will tracking be done differently?
thanks!

ysliveer, my registered items get returned to me within the same week but maybe because registered mail get processed faster...
If you've written your recipient and sender address correctly and your envelope is not torn, the items should be returned to you in the event that it is undelivered.
think i give up.
called up both delivery base of my side and buyer side, but keep being referred to the buyer's area base. and we were given the politically correct reply about sorry about the lost mail, and some crap about ensure stuff not stolen by workers there.
Oh well, i hope that whoever stole the mail will meet with bad luck! :shout:
If they have the decency to return my mail, my return address is written behind the packet. My envelope not easily torn cause i sort of wraped everything using clear masking tape.
