Bags all self paid?

charmelise: the leather for that bow is goat skin pebbled leather whereas the crinkly leather you've seen in the store is the distressed calfskin leather. at the moment, all the newer seasons (S/S 08 and F/W 08 ) bows are all made of the distressed calfskin leather. while most people tend to dislike the calfskin at first sight, people who have the bows in both the pebbled leather and calfskin actually prefer the latter as it is more slouchy. my bow is distressed calfskin leather and the creases are quite obvious on the side. I didn't quite like it at first as I prefer the pebbled leather too, but I realised as you carry it more - the leather becomes softer and more buttery. falling deeper in love with my bow as a result in any case, I'm hoping that Miucca will produce pebbled leather bows for the next season, so I can have the best of both worlds.

my bags are all self-paid, saved up for. but my most expensive one was paid for by my parents, planning to pay them back by saving up and returning them. no boyfriend

thanks toelovehan. i actually love the bag so much i was willing to buy it in any leather. saw one in lane crawford hk yesterday in the pebbled leather in grey and i think it was on sale too!

but hubby doesn't like the colours available now. and since he pays for all my shopping i have to make sure he feels satisfied with the purchase. =(

could the bow you saw be the Astro Bow? I don't really like that colour either too. My favourite bow colours are the Nero, followed by Mughetto and lastly the Sughero (which is cherrycola's bow colour). hoping a pebbled leather bow in a nice pink like Mughetto will come out in S/S 09. in the mean time, I'll start saving up $300 per month until the new season :D

hey toelovehan, i just googled astro. the one i saw is darker than that, so i think it's the fumo.

the mughetto looks great as well. i'm still trying to figure out what the light camel one is called.

i went to the miu miu boutique and they showed me the distressed calfskin one in black and dark camel. they claimed it is the spring 09 collection but i thought the colours looked more winter collection to me.

my bags are mostly bought with my hard earned money. but sometimes my hubby will pay for me if not will give me as gifts for special occasions. just last week he bought me a chanel 2.55 for our anniversary. he complains at times that i spend too much. with the sales going on, he always remind me saying, don't save on 40% n get 'cheated' on 60%.

my hubby is nice n will try to get for me if i really ask him to but i won't usually ask him as he will start complaining i spend too much on bags. so i will still get them on my own but will ask him for opinion. right now am trying to get him to buy me a bottega hobo. hee hee! so bad n greedy of me. guess it's different cos if we have kids, then he probably won't let me buy more even if with my own $.

Yeah..I agree with that! It makes you treasure your bags even more! The other thing is, in any event if you want to sell the older collections and purchase something from the new season, hmm....it will not appear very nice to be selling bags which someone else purchase for you....Well, but again, if he's cool about it, that will be absolutely great!

i actually treasure the bags that my husband bought me more than the ones i bought myself. somehow i feel if i buy them i can afford to be more careless with them as i can easily replace them. but if it is a present from hubby then there is great sentimental value attached which makes them even more special. i don't ever sell my stuff so that's not really an issue for me.

those bags from my hubby, i baby them and i m very careful with it whenever i bring out. I treasure them very much as like what you said there is great sentimental value attached.

For bags which i bought myself, i just leave around on the floor in my room..

bags frm hubby, after using i will wipe with damp cloth and carefully stored in dustbag and keep inside my cupboard.
