    Default Furla

I couldn't find any thread for Furla bags, so I'm starting one.

Just received this bag as a gift. It's supposed to be calf leather treated to look like ostrich skin.

Do you think this bag is a keeper?

SO refers to it as a 'chicken-pox' bag (he wasn't the one who'd bought it for me).

shopcraze > You're into 'ostrich skin' / exotic skins too, huh?

reldyn > Hey, no need to be sorry for not liking it. It's a gift, so a return / exchange is out of the question for me. I'll just use it anyway because (as strange as this sounds) this will make the giver very happy.

I like Furla bags and I own a few. Excellent quality and nice desings. But this one is not a keeper. I'm not a big fan of ostrich skin anyway. I like the color though. It's really up to you, whether you have outfits to much this bag and if you really like it.

Furla are very durable and it will probably last you a lifetime. So, is a lilac ostrich skin bag your life time bag? I'd personally stick with classics.

please PM me if you ever get sick of the bag and want to get rid of it

i think this colour is rather easy to match as it's not too striking like bright red or bright green. would go very well with denim and tannish tones.

i love furla bags but only own a tiny one. bought in italy at a heavily discounted price

i think this one below heart-stopping but grossly impractical. they should at least make a detachable strap/chain or something!

I own an Elisabeth in tan colour. It was a on the spur of the moment purchase which cost me $738 in damage (and that was after a store plus citibank discount. But it is a light and soft tote which is quite functional and comes with a long strap which means I can handcarry, carry it on the shoulder or across the body.

Ok, this is going to sound a tad stupid, but I didn't know Furla bags all come with feminine names. I just googled and my 'chicken-pox / measles' bag's named Eurice.

reldyn > I reckon I'll match the bag with clothes that veer more towards neutral shades? Nothing too loud, I think. I dunno, any suggestions?

lily25 > Thanks for your input. I'm sticking with it because I can't ask for the receipt from the giver to do an exchange. A bit 'paiseh' to do so and I'm quite surprised by the amount of trouble the giver went to, to get this bag.

plain_substance > I like the bag you bought in Italy. It looks very soft! Is it lamb skin or calf leather? The clutch is not practical, I agree. It does resemble the Prada clutch though.

shoez > I did a google check on the Elisabeth and it's very roomy. I think it's very practical and value for money. Do you use it for work?

One last question: Since Furla originates from Italy, is it cheapest to buy Furla products from Italy? Also, is it cheaper to buy it from USA, then ship it across to SG (somewhat like Kate Spade stuff?)?

    hi creepcake,

I use it when I go for training as I usually will bring a shawl or cardigan. So the Elisabeth is roomy enough for me to stuff the extra clothing together with the usual stuff I bring (wallet, umbrella, tissue paper, water etc). And best of all it can be carried on the shoulder so easier when I take public transport.

I don't use it for work though as prefer to stick to my LV speedy cause it looks more professional.

As for buying online, I think it will be slightly cheaper only unless they have sale (think there's a sale on now). Can try going to the website www.furlausa.com to take a look.

I just got a Furla bag! Saw it 2 months ago, but at $1100, it's not that worth it and I didn't think of owning it. But today I passed by Raffles city outlet, it's at 50% + 5% off, so $522.50! I was totally sold.....

Love the black patent leather teamed with red checked, this design is called Clara. The whole design is so me! And the size is just right for me too. I am so happy!
